Krzysztof Malowany, MSE
Krzysztof Malowany is a co-founder and board chairman of KSM Vision. A graduate of the Faculty of Mechatronics of the Warsaw University of Technology, he specialized in Automatics and Robotics. His Master thesis on optical measurements of works of art has received awards in two national competitions for the best master thesis of 2012 (the Young Innovators competition held by the Industrial Research Institute for Automation and Measurements and the 21st national competition of the Polish Electrical Engineers’ Association). He is currently a PhD student and employee at the Institute of Micromechanics and Photonics of the Warsaw University of Technology. In 2013, he received the Warsaw University of Technology team award for scientific achievements. His research work involves the implementation of optical measurements and image processing in the power, chemical and pharmacy industries.
Marcin Malesa, PhD
PhD in Machine Design and Maintenance
Marcin Malesa is a co-founder and vice chairman of the board at KSM Vision. He graduated from the Faculty of Mechatronics, Warsaw University of Technology with a degree in Automatics and Robotics and is currently employed with the University at the Institute of Micromechanics and Photonics. Before undertaking his PhD studies, he entered a one-year internship at the Department of Experimental Mechanics of Airbus UK in Bristol. His scientific interests are centered around the development of optical measurement methods and their applications in various domains of science and industry such as experimental mechanics, art conservation, heat- and power-generating industry as well as the building industry. As a laureate of the TOP 500 Innovators program (founded by the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education) he took part in the Science-Management-Commercialization workshop at University of California, Berkeley (Haas School of Business). He is also the recipient of the team award for scientific achievements from the Warsaw University of Technology.
Dariusz Szczepanek, MSE
Dariusz Szczepanek is a co-founder and board vice president at KSM Vision. He graduated from the Faculty of Mechatronics of the Warsaw University of Technology with a degree in Automatics and Robotics. Following graduation, he started collaborating with the Institute of Micromechanics and Photonics, where he worked mostly on development of software for automatic processing of digital images. During that time, he completed a post-graduate course in IT management at the Faculty of Electronics and Information Technology, WUT. As a member of the research team at the Institute, he co-authored several papers and one patent application, and is also a recipient of the team award for scientific achievements from the Warsaw University of Technology. He created the computer software used by the company for displacement and strain analysis with the Digital Image Correlation method. As a professional software engineer, he is responsible for coordinating all software projects within the company.
